Calling all burger lovers! After a successful launch in Xintiandi earlier this year, Shake Shack is poised to open its second Shanghai location. Construction of the beloved burger joint is already underway at the Jing’an Kerry Center.
Customers at the Kerry Center location will soon be able to have a taste of the classic Shackburger, Shake Shack’s modern take on the ‘roadside’ burger made with all-natural, juicy Angus beef, or its killer Shroom burger, popular even among meat-lovers, all topped off with its famous ‘ShakeSauce.’ Not to forget are its concretes, or frozen blended custard shakes.

In line with its mission to work with local producers, the company intends to create a unique menu attuned to the Jing’an neighborhood. When Xintiandi opened, they put a Shanghai-only ‘Strawberry Yu(zu) Garden’ shake on the menu, so we imagine something along similar lines. Homegrown brands Al’s Baking Co., Sweet Teeth and Boxing Cat Brewery are among the suppliers of Shake Shack’s first Shanghai location.
Even before its official opening, Shake Shack has already made itself at home in Jing'an district. It has collaborated with local artist Judy Kai to create an art mural depicting the fun urban lifestyle in the city along with iconic brand images.
While no official date has been set, representives for the brand promise it will be soon.

The first Shake Shack in Chinese mainland opened in Xintiandi in January to the warm embrace of three-hour long lines. A branch in Beijing is also set to open in late 2020, where the fast food chain hopes to open 15 locations in total by the end of the next decade.
